Slipstream is a nonprofit organization mission-driven to advance economic and environmental sustainability through engineering, education, and research. Slipstream staff has expertise in architecture, engineering, economics, statistics, psychology, policy analysis, and communications. We rely on this diverse skill set to offer a broad variety of services supporting our mission, including characterizing energy use in utility service areas; evaluating energy efficiency programs; gathering primary data on energy use patterns; modeling energy use in buildings; measuring appliance-specific energy use; and educating policymakers, analysts and technicians to help advance energy efficiency. We have extensive experience conducting field research to measure building and technology performance. We have conducted significant research to help achieve greater energy savings in utility CIPs. We have built strong relationships with energy efficiency professionals, including utility CIP managers, building design professionals and building owners. We have implemented utility programs in several states throughout the country.
Cost is still a barrier to adoption for many homeowners and businesses. And that’s why Energy Finance Solutions (EFS)—the financing arm of Slipstream—is committed to developing affordable financing programs to fund energy efficiency and renewable energy programs. Since 1995, EFS has partnered with hundreds of contractors, utilities, state agencies, municipalities and financial institutions to make energy upgrades easy and affordable for homeowners and businesses across the country.
