Insights from Measured Savings Programs

Increasingly, home retrofit programs are utilizing measured savings, an approach that provides rebates based on actual energy savings as opposed to deemed or modeled values. While measured savings hold great promise for contractor program participation, accountability for how dollars are spent, and grid reliability - how have actual measured savings programs performed? 

During this presentation, panelists will provide insights into the performance of measured savings programs in California, New Jersey, and New York. In particular, panelists will provide initial insights into the performance of the 3C-REN Program, analyzing takeaways from hot-off-the-presses energy data released by local utilities. 

In short, the presentation will explore if the program achieved the energy savings expected as well as examine program participation from both contractors and households. The lessons learned from these measured savings programs can be applied to the development of other energy efficiency programs across the country.
