Apprenticeship is a hot topic in the energy efficiency industry. Instead of broad discussions, this session dives into the specific knowledge and tools needed to create a successful Registered Apprenticeship Program. You’ll hear from three key stakeholders: a state official who approves apprenticeship paperwork, an industry intermediary/group sponsor who manages program implementation, and an RTI provider who trains participants in building science and energy auditing.
The session will also explore alternative training options, such as pre-apprenticeship programs, which provide valuable pathways for program implementers facing regulatory challenges. We’ll discuss the benefits of using an industry intermediary or group sponsor and outline the steps to establish a Registered Apprenticeship.
