This comprehensive training is designed to assist those who prepare Environmental Review Records or conduct environmental reviews for HUD programs.
The training content will begin with a survey of HUD/National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) environmental regulations and proceed to specific topics such as historic preservation, noise, toxic substances, floodplain management, endangered species, etc. Updated environmental regulations, guidance and recommended formats will be distributed to conference participants. Hands-on training will include case studies of recent HUD environmental reports as well as completion of both programmatic and site-specific checklists. Participants will learn how to navigate the HUD tiered environmental review process from start to finish.
