Learnings from the Ground on the IRA Rebates

From coast to coast, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Home Energy Rebates began rolling out in 2024. These coveted rebates have the potential to transform the market for home energy retrofit projects, but what has the initial rollout looked like on the ground? During this presentation, presenters will share the initial successes and challenges of various IRA rebate programs, as well as best practices for efficiently deploying IRA rebates through scalable programs. The presentation will specifically explore the outcomes of different program designs on contractor participation in the programs. The lessons learned from these initial rollouts can be useful for program administrators as they evolve their programs. The presentation will provide a range of views on how IRA program implementation is playing out, with perspectives from stakeholders working in IRA programs across the country.
