Energy Programs Technical Field Monitor
Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities
Lynn, Massachusetts
My name is Jay Gallant, I am a Technical Field Representative for the Executive Office of Housing and Liveable Communities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I have been in the weatherization field for 18 years. Before that I spent more than a decade in other building trades such as Roofing and HVAC installation. This work experience gave me a good base in which to begin my building sciences career. Since then, I have worked my way up from Energy Auditor to Quality Control Inspector (QCI), and then on to be the WAP Field Manager at Community Action program Inter-City (CAPIC) in Chelsea, Ma. After working at CAPIC for 11 years, I applied to become a Mass/ DOE Technical Field Representative. I was fortunate enough to get the job based on my years of experience and good standing reputation in the Mass WAP network. Being a Technical field Rep. has given me the opportunity to share my knowledge and skills with CAP agencies across the state of Massachusetts. I am excited to be looking forward, and seeing what’s next in this great field of ours.
