Lucyna de Barbaro

Lucyna de Barbaro, Ph.D., is an expert in energy efficiency, a former manager of Home Performance with Energy Star, and an accredited Home Energy Score assessor and mentor. Lucyna brings expertise in local housing stock, home performance, sustainability-focused specifications, energy assessment, modeling, quality assurance, training, and program management. Her vision is driven by a commitment to finding effective solutions to address climate change. She earned her Ph.D. in physics from the University of Rochester, NY, and contributed her research and scientific skills to physics experiments at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. She currently directs the nonprofit Energy Efficiency Empowerment (https://eeepgh.org), funded through the DOE’s Buildings Upgrade Prize, to advance energy efficiency and beneficial electrification in the Pittsburgh, PA, region.
