Rhett A. Major

Rhett Major currently operates as The Energy Doctor - Testing & Inspections

While in college, Rhett became very excited about residential energy conservation strategies, and being a good steward of the Earth’s resources. Upon graduation in ’88, he started doing business as “The Energy Doctor” officially in Pennsylvania, and for over 36 years, he has been helping people in Western PA to save energy, and be more comfortable in their homes and businesses.

Rhett has worked both in private practice, and in state and utility weatherization programs. He is currently holds various certifications in the industry, including LEED Green Rater, RESNET Rater, and a number of Building Performance Institute certifications, including Quality Control Inspector.
He is a trainer in a number of disciplines, and is excited about sharing his learning and experience to help enthusiasts understand and implement the concepts that are employed in energy efficient housing.

Rhett is currently a member of the ROCIS.org team, and tests and modifies HVAC systems to become better air filters for indoor air quality..

He currently lives in a 1940’s kit home he saved from the wrecking ball, and rehabilitated into a low-energy home for he and his wife.
