I am an environmental epidemiologist with a focus on chemical and non-chemical stressors that contribute to health disparities for residents of inner-city neighborhoods in the United States. I am interested in clarifying the association between housing and health. I conduct studies to identify and quantify environmental factors responsible for health disparities and also conduct clinical trials to translate etiologic findings into interventions to improve health. My expertise lies in studies focusing on the home environment and the following contaminants: allergens, metals, indoor air pollution, pesticides, and other chemical stressors prevalent in the home environment. I am also interested in the mediating effects of psychosocial stressors on exposure to these environmental stressors.
