Mia Harnos joined the National Community Action Partnerships in the Fall of 2024 to lead the Energy and Weatherization portfolio. In this role, Mia helps to inform program and policy, builds relationships with interest groups and coalitions, and highlights the lived perspectives and voices of low income families across America. Mia and her team provide TTA on core energy and Weatherization issues at the local, state, and national levels to states, subgrantees, and local nonprofits while seeking new business ventures, foundation and government grants, and contractual fee for service engagements.
In her role COO at Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency located in Detroit, Mia supported the Board and CEO to navigate significant growth and organizational change going from from $50M in 2020 to $310M in 2022 earning Mia being selected as Crain's Detroit Business Women to Watch and Wayne Metro Detroit's Best Managed Nonprofit. Mia has worked with large corporations, startups, and nonprofits to drive adaptive growth and communication strategies for more than 20 years. A challenge seeker and pursuer of change, Mia strives to take on large scale problems that lead to transformation and systems change.
