Dana began building the Household Energy and Health program at the Center for Entrepreneurship in International Health and Development (CEIHD) at the University of California, Berkeley, in 2001. She went on to co-found Berkeley Air Monitoring Group, where she has managed or contributed to a range of research, monitoring and evaluation, and standards and methodology development projects related to clean cooking in low- and middle-income countries and building decarbonization in the U.S. Dana brings a passion for tackling environmental problems at home and as far away as Antarctica. Prior to her involvement in the cookstove sector, she led the Woodwise Consumer Initiative at Co-op America, and managed several international fact-finding expeditions for Greenpeace. Through her professional experience, Dana has developed interests in 1) using scientific approaches to catalyze social change; 2) building entrepreneurial organizations; and 3) aligning sustainability with the profit motive to achieve success. Her skills include strategic planning, writing and editing, group facilitation, qualitative data analysis, budgeting and fiscal oversight, and employee/contractor management. She has business experience in East Africa, China, Australia/New Zealand and Europe, and is fluent in French and German. She holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley and a BA from Wellesley College.
