Manager of Healthy Homes and Weatherization Cooperation Demonstration Program
Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority
Indianapolis, Indiana
Katie Deaton has worked at Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) since October 2023 as Program Manager for the Healthy Homes and Weatherization Cooperation Demonstration (HHWCD) Grant, a pilot program in Marion County to explore the impact of combining health hazard remediation efforts with energy efficiency upgrades in low- and very low-income households. Katie works with both the Healthy Homes program, housed within IHCDA, and the Weatherization Services provider in Marion County to streamline access to both programs and work toward developing a sustainable model for ongoing cooperation between the two. Katie came to this role with nearly 16 years of experience in social and child welfare services, seeing first-hand the crucial role that safe, clean, affordable housing plays in helping families and communities thrive. In combining that experience with a natural passion for outreach, Katie is driven to share these IHCDA resources with providers, partners, agencies and families across the state of Indiana to ensure that eligible families have the knowledge and ability to access these programs.
